1. What do you think will be the future of photography?

That’s a tough one, the playing field has been leveled in a lot ways, allowing many more people to get great photos with less training, but there will always be a place for the talented and hard working pros who have a lot of passion and the desire to make a living at it.  Right now the economy isn’t helping, as there are less outlets that the photos used to have for their photos.

2. If you could shoot with anybody in the world past or present who would it be and why?

Another tough one.  I’ve always enjoyed shooting with K.Robb!!  But, if I had to pick one surfer I’d probably say Tom Carroll, since he was one of the first super stars I shot when I first started.  I loved watching him surf Hawaii, definitely one of the most well rounded North Shore surfers of all time.

3. If you were able to take only one more photo what would it be of?

For my one last photo, I’d say something super iconic outside of surfing, an uplifting and happy moment that would make everyone in the world stop fighting.

4. What is something we may not know about you?

I’d like everyone to know that I always try to treat people with respect, and try to be fair and honest in everything I do.

5. What got you into photography?

I got into photography because I wasn’t nearly talented enough to be a professional athlete, and taking photos seemed like the next best thing.

6. Where is your next project?

My next project coming up is Hawaii, it will be my 31st winter, only missed one since my first trip in 1981.  I always look forward to driving out to the North Shore every winter, such a great place for photography.  And the ocean is so raw and alive.
